Workers Across Generations Take the Street: Governor Hochul Must Enforce Labor Law!

Wednesday Oct 8, Brooklyn, NY — Youth Against Sweatshops led workers of all industries in protesting Governor Hochul’s wage theft and 24-hour workdays that drag down young workers’ conditions! We are all facing unemployment and overwork as we are forced to compete in this race to the bottom. Young workers condemn and call out Gov. Hochul’s oppression of working people as alienating working families and ushering in Trump’s attacks on our communities!

“Hochul’s repression of protests on college campuses has spread into the workplace, and workers increasingly face illegal retaliation that keeps us stuck in this eternal grind while these sweatshop bosses take home all the money,” said Muzzamil Mehdi, a young tech worker and educator. “We are increasingly aware of the threat that Trump poses, bringing the national guard and ICE into our major cities. We only see Hochul doing the same at home, further alienating workers and rolling out the red carpet for Trump to do the same in New York.”

Youth Against Sweatshops organizes with students, young workers, and community members to fight our exploitation, and take back control of our health and our lives!
